Car Parking

Issued: February 2013

To get to and from Sydney Airport, people can use public transport such as the train, taxis, bus and shuttle bus services, limousine services and rental cars or they can drive and use airport or off-airport parking. There are lots of choices available for people to consider and evaluate on price and convenience.

Sydney Airport is the busiest airport in Australia and is handling many more people than it used to. In 1988, the airport handled 13.3 million passengers.

In 2012, more than 36.9 million passengers used the airport – that’s an extra 23.6 million passengers. This is significant growth that has to be managed. On a busy day there can be more than 100,000 passengers passing through the terminals – and there are thousands more people who come to the airport to greet and farewell passengers.

Sydney Airport is obviously a very busy place and parking is limited.

All prices quoted below are correct at February 2013 and are subject to change without further notice. Check prebook.sydneyairport.com.au for current prices for all Sydney Airport parking products including online pre-book offers and valet parking options.

How does Sydney Airport set its prices for car parking?

While it is understandable that some people would like parking to be free, Sydney Airport is a company like any other business in Sydney and has to generate a return on its investment.

Car parking is a commercial operation and rates are determined after undertaking a market assessment.
