Sydney Airport Community Christmas Giving Tree – Variety - The Children’s Charity
In 2013, Sydney Airport launched a multilayered corporate campaign focusing on a call to action for staff, travelers, retailers and airport businesses. In partnership with Variety – the Children’s Charity, the campaign aimed to raise much-needed funds to help Aussie kids and their families living with sickness, disadvantage or special needs through a combination of promotions, volunteering activities and entertainment during the Christmas period. Australian Kookaburra Kids Foundation Inc.
Sydney Airport was proud to partner with the locally-based St George Sutherland Shire organisation Australian Kookaburra Kids Foundation Inc for the first time in 2013. Each quarter, Kookaburra Kids coordinates a camp for a group of thirty kids and young adults who hold the position of career in their families. These camps provide respite and relaxation for these kids who, due to their family circumstances, do not get to experience normal teenage activities in their daily lives. Sydney Airport is honoured to sponsor the 2013 September camp and work with an organisation that offers vulnerable young adults a motivational, educational and fun experience.
Staff engagement is an integral component of any business and Sydney Airport strongly advocates the importance of providing opportunities for staff participation in community activities including Daffodil Day, Legacy Week, Red Shield Appeal, Pink Ribbon Day, Shine for Kids and Bondi Lion.
