Terms and Conditions

Aviation Community - Photography Competition Terms and Conditions

  1. Entry into the Sydney Airport Air India Dreamliner Photography Competition (“Promotion”) is deemed to be acceptance of these terms and conditions.
  2. The Promoter is Sydney Airport Corporation Limited, Central Terrace Building, 10 Arrivals Court, Mascot NSW 2020 (“Promoter”).
  3. An Entry that does not, in the Promoter’s opinion, comply with these terms and conditions may be disqualified.
  4. Eligibility
  5. Entry is open to Australian residents aged 18 years or older, excluding the Promoter’s directors, management, employees and their immediate families (“Eligible Entrants”).
  6. The Promotion commences at 12.01 am (AEDT) on 27 July 2013 and closes at 23.59 pm (AEDT) on 8 August 2013 (“Promotion Period”). Entries received outside the Promotion Period will be rejected.

  7. Entry Methods

  8. Enter by submitting photographic images which demonstrate colourful liveries and inaugural flights at Sydney Airport (“Entries”).

  9. Eligible Entrants may submit a maximum of 5 Entries each.

  10. Entries can be submitted by any of the following methods (“Entry Methods”)

    1. uploading images to Sydney Airport’s Event Webpage using the following link: http://www.sydneyairport.com.au/corporate/community-environment-and-planning/aviation-community/photography-competition.aspx

    2. emailing images to sydneyairport.sydspotting@pixlee.com; or

    3. posting images on Instagram, Twitter or Vine using hash tag #sydspotting (photographs will only be captured if your profile is public).

  11. Eligible Entrants must provide all information requested by the Promoter at the time of entry. Incomplete, indecipherable, or non–compliant Entries will be rejected.

  12. Entries to sydneyairport.sydspotting@pixlee.com will be automatically processed.  There may be a delay in uploading. 

  13. The Promoter is not responsible for late, lost or misdirected Entries, or for any technical difficulties or unavailability of any Entry Method during the Promotional Period.

  14. Entry specifications

  15. Entries must:

    1. be submitted on digital files in PNG or JPG format and must be no larger than 5MB

    2. be a single image (not collages or images containing multiple images

    3. not have been previously submitted to the Promoter for a previous competition; and

    4. not, in the Promoter’s view, contain unlawful or objectionable content.

  16. By submitting an Entry, you represent and warrant that it is your own original work and does not infringe the intellectual property or other rights of any person or entity, or any law, and does not contain malicious code, such as viruses, timebombs, cancelbots, worms, trojan horses or other potentially harmful programs. You agree to indemnify the Promoter against all costs and claims arising from a breach of this warranty.

    How to win

  17. During the Entry Period, members of the general public may vote for their favourite Entries via the Event Webpage. Each voter is permitted to submit one vote per Entry. Eligible Participants are encouraged to publicise the Promotion, but any activity the Promoter deems fraudulent, unfair, or unethical (such as automated voting using bots, scripts, or other software tools, or one individual casting votes using multiple accounts) is not permitted and may result in an Entry being rejected and/or the entrant disqualified.

  18. The 10 Entries that receive the highest number of public votes will be judged to determine the winning Entry.  Judging will be undertaken by the Promoter at 2:00pm on 9 August 2013.

  19. The Entry the Promoter considers to be the most creative and/or original will be the winner. The Promotion is a game of skill and chance plays no part in determining the winner.

  20. The winner will be notified by email or phone within 2 days of the judging date. If the winner does not claim the Prize within 14 days after the notification date, the Prize will be forfeited and a new winner may be selected by the Promoter at its sole discretion.

  21. If Entries do not meet the Promoter’s expected standards, it is not obliged to select a winner. The Promoter’s decision is final and correspondence regarding the result will not be entered into.

  22. The Prize

  23. The winner of the Promotion will receive airside access at Sydney Airport to photograph the first commercial B787 ‘Dreamliner’ flight to Sydney, Australia (“Prize”). Airside access is subject to applicable security laws and procedures.

  24. As a condition of accepting the Prize, the winner agrees to shoot and provide to the Promoter at least 10 digital photos and/or videos during the delivery of the Prize that document the event (“Promotional Images”).

  25. The Prize value is AUD $600, which approximates the Promoter’s costs of facilitating the Promotion. The Prize winner is responsible for any costs it incurs in connection with accepting the Prize.

  26. The Prize must be taken as stated and is not transferable, exchangeable or redeemable in any way.

  27. The Promoter may request that the Prize winner provides proof of identity, age, and proof of residency as a condition of receipt of the Prize.

  28. Ownership of Entries and Promotional Images

  29. Copyright in Entries and any Promotional Images remains with the Eligible Entrant. The Eligible Entrant grants the Promoter a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty free licence to use the Entries and any Promotional Images at the Promoter’s sole discretion, including for any marketing or promotional purposes.

  30. The Prize winner agrees to participate in any news or media activities surrounding the Promotion, and to the publication of their name and image on the Promoter’s website and social media sites. 

  31. General 

  32. If any anything occurs which is beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter and which prevents the Promoter from complying with these terms and conditions, the Promoter will not be liable for any failure to perform or delay in performing its obligations and reserves the right (subject to any applicable law) to cancel, terminate or modify or suspend the Promotion.

  33. The Promoter and its related entities, and their respective officers, employees and agents will not be liable for any loss, damage or personal injury whatsoever (including but not limited to direct, indirect and consequential loss) suffered or sustained in connection with the Promotion or the use of any Prize, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law.

  34. The Promoter collects personal information in order to conduct the Promotion and may, for this purpose, disclose such information to third parties, including, but not limited to, Australian regulatory authorities. The Promoter may use the information for promotional, marketing and publicity purposes including sending electronic messages. The Promoter may share information with its promotional partners who may contact entrants with special offers. By entering the Promotion, each entrant agrees that the Promoter may use its personal information in this manner. Personal information provided in connection with the Promotion will be handled in accordance with the Promoter’s Privacy Policy, a copy of which is available at www.sydneyairport.com.au/privacy-policy.aspx
