Since 2002, Sydney Airport has invested more than $2.6 billion to enhance capacity and build new facilities.
Over the next five years, we’ll be investing a further $1.2 billion in projects to upgrade airport facilities, improve the airport experience for our passengers and further enhance capacity.
First and foremost are our investments to upgrade the journey for the 150,000 people who travel to or from the airport every day.
As part of this process, Sydney Airport released for public comment the T2/T3 Ground Access Solutions and Hotel draft Major Development Plan (draft MDP).
Comments received during the exhibition period were carefully considered and a revised draft MDP was provided to the Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development for his consideration.
The draft MDP was approved by the Minister on 12 March 2015.
The approved MDP includes:
- Ground transport improvements for the T2/T3 precinct that will streamline traffic flow;
- A purpose-built Ground Transport Interchange to accommodate public buses, coaches and cars;
- Expanded pedestrian and cycle infrastructure to encourage active transport and improve safety; and
- A new 4-5 star hotel with 430 rooms and conference facilities at T2/T3.
In accordance with the requirements of the Airports Act 1996, Sydney Airport has made available a free copy of the approved MDP which can be downloaded using the links below for a period of 180 days.
