Sydney Airport today donated close to $30,000 to Youth Off The Streets at the launch of the organisation’s new South Eastern Sydney Outreach Program.
“Sydney Airport is honoured to support Youth Off The Streets’ new outreach program, which will provide vital services to young people in need in our local community,” Sydney Airport Chief Executive Officer, Kerrie Mather, said.
“Our donation will fund a mobile barbecue trailer to bring food, activities, equipment, information and volunteers to individuals and families in the south eastern Sydney area.”
Youth Off The Streets Founder and CEO, Father Chris Riley, said the South Eastern Sydney Outreach program will provide services to the people who need them most.
“Our youth workers at South Eastern Sydney Outreach are really excited to be bringing fun activities and great food to young people in the area.
“The great food is only possible through the generosity of Sydney Airport which has fully funded the barbecue trailer and food.
“The generous donation is essential to our outreach program, which is an effective program that provides a safe environment for young people to socialise and participate in structured activities.”
Youth Off The Streets is a non-denominational community organisation working for young people aged from 12 to 21 years who are facing challenges of homelessness, drug and alcohol dependency, exclusion from school, neglect and abuse.
The South Eastern Sydney Outreach Program aims to offer tailored services to Aboriginal children, young people, and their families and communities.
Sydney Airport has donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to charities and community projects over the past decade and proudly supports many local initiatives.
