Sydney Airport today announced applications are open for its 2013 School Grants Program, which supports schools in the local community by providing funds for school improvements.

“Sydney Airport is committed to our ongoing strong, long term relationships with our local community, and we’re proud to invest in local schools as part of that commitment,” Sydney Airport Chief Executive Officer, Kerrie Mather, said.

“Under our 2013 School Grants Program, local schools may apply for financial assistance of up to $5,000 for projects that offer a direct benefit to students and teachers within the local school community.

“This year, we’re focusing on projects with an environmental benefit, such as planting native trees and vegetable gardens, installing bike racks, or environmental and sustainability education projects.

“Applicants should provide details on how their individual program will improve the physical, educational and/or environmental landscape for the school community.”

Now in its 12th year, Sydney Airport has donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to school and community projects through its School Grants Program.

Applications for the 2013 School Grants Program open today, Friday, 26 July, and close on Friday, 16 August 2013.
