How do I invest in Sydney Airport (SYD)?
Sydney Airport is listed on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) with the ticker ‘SYD’. Sydney Airport stapled securities can be purchased through any ASX registered broker.
Why is it called a stapled security and not a share?
Stapled securities comprise securities in two (or more) separate entities that are traded as a single stapled security. In Sydney Airport’s case, there are two Australian trusts (SAT1 and SAT2). Each security consists of one unit in each of SAT1 and SAT2. These structures are designed with the aim of maximising the efficiency with which returns are made to security holders.
When will distributions be paid on securities?
Sydney Airport intends to make half yearly distributions to security holders to the extent that it is legally entitled to do so. Distributions will be paid in respect of the six months to June and the six months to December. It is expected that the June distribution will be paid in August and the December distribution paid in February.
What is the DRP and how do I register for it?
Please note that the DRP is currently suspended.
The DRP is the Distribution Reinvestment Plan. Under this plan Australian and New Zealand Sydney Airport stapled security holders could choose to have their distributions automatically re-invested in Sydney Airport units at zero brokerage fees.
Full details of the terms and methodology for calculating the price of securities allocated under the Distribution Reinvestment Plan (DRP) are available in the DRP booklet.
What is the breakdown of the distributions paid by Sydney Airport?
