Sydney Airport will welcome a new airline and a new route when Sichuan Airlines’ inaugural Chongqing-Sydney service touches down on 20 December.
The new twice weekly service is great news for passengers, as it will provide direct access to western China from Sydney Airport for both tourism and business travellers.
Sichuan Airlines will operate its Airbus A330-200 aircraft on the route.
Sydney Airport also recently welcomed China Southern Airlines’ Airbus A380 aircraft to Sydney on the popular Guangzhou-Sydney route.
Sydney Airport is Australia’s gateway to China, with close to 100 flights per week to greater China, including Beijing, Guangzhou, Shanghai and Nanjing.
It’s also one of the world’s busiest A380 airports, catering to 120 flights per week on the quieter and more efficient A380 aircraft.
