Sydney Airport is continually improving airfield and terminal facilities, and there are currently a number of improvement projects underway across the airport.
Following customer feedback, we are refurbishing bathrooms at T1 to make them more user friendly, provide new baby change rooms and feeding facilities, increase the number of basins and hand dryers, and install state-of-the-art hands free facilities.
To facilitate increased passenger numbers and improve services, Sydney Airport is upgrading the capacity of our baggage system by providing additional A380 baggage reclaims facilities and an early bag store facility at T1 for up to 1,200 bags. Early bag stores enable customers to check-in early at the airport and have their bags kept in a secure facility, while assisting airlines to transport and sort bags efficiently. The upgrade is expected to be completed early next year.
Sydney Airport has also completed works to widen and resurface aircraft taxiways to facilitate next generation aircraft such as the A380 and Boeing Dreamliner.
