A Slice of Delight Comes to Sydney International Airport

19 December 2011
Category:Retail Media Releases

Pizza lovers on the go are set for a special treat as Crust Gourmet Pizza Bar has just fired up its ovens and opened its doors in the food court of Sydney International Airport. And even better news is they will be open for breakfast, lunch and dinner!

The Sydney International Airport store features a variety of Crust’s gourmet pizzas sold by the 9x5 inch square slice. Crust has evolved its range to cater for the diverse stream of customers of the airport, including for the first time, a delicious breakfast range, including the Spanish Omelette pizza featuring chorizo, feta, cracked pepper and egg, as well as muffins, wraps, croissants, coffee and tea. For lunch and dinner, starters, desserts and licensed drinks will also be available.

Crust Gourmet Group’s founder and MD, Costa Anastasiadis, sees Crust’s slice model as a taste of things to come: "This new concept is a natural progression for Crust, as we’ve always been focused on changing people’s perceptions of takeaway pizza. This is the next evolution of that vision."

"As yet, no other franchise has established a high quality, gourmet pizza offering in shopping centres or airports. Many people associate pizza in food courts as unhealthy and lacking in freshness, sitting under heat lamps for hours. We’re turning this perception on its head in retail centres, offering a quick, freshly cooked, high quality takeaway option." Anastasiadis added.

Andrew Gardiner, General Manager, Retail, Sydney Airport Corporation said, "Given that Sydney is Australia’s flagship airport, we are thrilled to be able to have this great Australian company on board, which showcases the creativity and flair that Aussie’s can bring to pizza"
