Sydney Airport shortlisted for FAB Awards

• Sydney Airport shortlisted in three categories of fourth annual Airport Food & Beverage (FAB) Awards 2014
• Nominations acknowledge innovation, excellence and choice in food and beverage offering

Sydney Airport has been shortlisted in the Airport Coffee/Non-Alcoholic Beverage Outlet of the Year, Airport Bar of the Year and Airport Chef-Led and/or Fine Dining Offer of the Year categories in the FAB Awards 2014.

“We’re delighted that our enhanced food and beverage offering has been recognised by the FAB Awards,” Sydney Airport General Manager Retail, Glyn Williams, said.
The award nominations include:

  • Popular premium cafe Quikshots for Airport Coffee/Non-Alcoholic Beverage Outlet;
  • Coopers Alehouse for Airport Bar of the Year; and
  • Spanish tapas-style gourmet restaurant MoVida for Chef-Led and/or Fine Dining Offer of the Year.

“Sydney Airport has invested substantially in expanding and revitalising the T1 and T2 retail precincts, with our food and beverage offering a key focus,” Mr Williams said.

“We’re constantly scanning the international and domestic market for new concepts such as first-to-airport or first-to-Australia.

“As Australia’s international gateway, it’s important that we provide an array of food choices to cater for different tastes and price points.

“Sydney Airport’s food and beverage offering also provides a fantastic customer experience, helping to enhance the joy of travel.”

The FAB Awards, a partnership between The Moodie Report and sister title The Foodie Report, are the world’s only airport-specific food and beverage awards and reflect the best in travel-related food and beverage operations worldwide. The awards shortlist was selected from a record field of over 200 entries around the world.

“We congratulate all of the nominees around the world and look forward to the announcement of the award winners in June 2014,” Mr Williams said.
