La Perla celebrates first Australian boutique opening at Sydney Airport

World renowned Italian lingerie brand, La Perla, has opened the doors to its first Australian-based boutique in Sydney Airport’s International Terminal (T1), further expanding the terminal’s luxury retail offering. The store has been brought to Australia by King Power International, a leading retailer of specialist stores in airports worldwide.

Passengers travelling through T1 can now explore the full range of delicate underpinnings, stylish beachwear and elegant nightwear – as well as the Nero Perla men’s range – in the new 60 square metre store and enjoy tax and duty free prices.

The space is La Perla’s 130th store worldwide since Ada Masotti founded her Italian company in 1954. The name La Perla is inspired by the jewel-lined case with red velvet in which Ada‘s first creations were transported.

The brand is now a global icon of fashion and luxury, renowned for its exceptional craftsmanship and use of the finest fabrics to create garments adored by fashion conscious shoppers around the world.

“Our new Sydney Airport store, the first of its kind in Australia, has been designed to reflect the romantic and intimate experience we aim to deliver to all our customers around the world. The new store at the airport will build on the current success of the La Perla brand in Australian domestic department stores by extending our reach to the exciting on-airport retail market,” La Perla Creative Director, Giovanni Bianchi, said.

Sydney Airport General Manager Retail, Andrew Gardiner, said Sydney Airport was excited to be delivering an Australian first to its international terminal.

“We’re delighted to be delivering more choice to our international passengers by introducing this respected lingerie brand to our international terminal. We’re excited that Sydney Airport is the only place in Australia where customers can shop for the full La Perla range at tax and duty free prices while also experiencing the full La Perla brand experience. The opening of the La Perla boutique also further cements our commitment to making Sydney Airport a world class shopping destination,” he said.
