Sydney Airport’s T2 has been extensively refurbished with a $20 million upgrade.
T2 is the domestic terminal used by airlines including Virgin Australia, Tiger Airways, Jetstar Airways, Regional Express (REX), QantasLink, Brindabella Airlines and Aeropelican Air Services.
More than 10 million passengers pass through T2 each year, making it the busiest of the three terminals at Sydney Airport. T2 is a critical part of Sydney’s transport and tourism infrastructure.
The new development provides passengers and their friends and family with more options and more choice.
The number of retail and food outlets has increased from 23 to 44, providing customers much more variety and choice.
The retail precinct benefits from an abundance of natural light which makes it a great space to relax and enjoy the fantastic views over the airfield.
The upgrade also included the expansion of security screening, improvements to lighting, new floor surfaces and toilets, and improved signage to assist passenger movements through the terminal.
The terminal remained fully-functional throughout the entire refurbishment which was carried out in six stages to minimise disruption and inconvenience to passengers and staff.
