Sydney Airport has partnered with Variety – the Children’s Charity to raise funds for children in need over the Christmas period.

“We’re thrilled to be partnering with Variety to raise much needed funds for vulnerable children in our community this Christmas,” Sydney Airport Chief Executive Officer, Kerrie Mather, said.

“We chose Variety as our Christmas charity partner this year due to their important work supporting Australian children, as well as their families.

“We’re calling on the community – including the 28,000 people who work across 800 businesses at the airport – to get involved and support this very special cause.

“At Sydney Airport, we’re proud of the support we provide to our local community, including hundreds of thousands of dollars in grants and sponsorships to charities, communities and sporting clubs, schools and other organisations.”

Variety – the Children’s Charity is a national not-for-profit organisation committed to empowering Australian children who are sick, disadvantaged or have special needs to live, laugh and learn. By giving practical equipment, programs and experiences, Variety helps children in need to overcome whatever obstacles they face and live life to the fullest.

Variety Chief Executive Officer, David Small, welcomed the charity’s partnership with Sydney Airport.

“The partnership with Sydney Airport will mean Variety is able to raise awareness as well as vital funds so we can assist many more Aussie kids who are sick, disadvantaged or have special needs,” Mr Small said.

“All the equipment Variety provides is designed to enable children to live life to the fullest by gaining mobility, freedom and independence, essentially helping kids to be kids. Sydney Airport’s support will help Variety bring joy to many more kids in need this Christmas and beyond.”

An event to launch the partnership will be held on Saturday, 9 November.

Sydney Airport and Variety will host a range of special events over the six-week Christmas campaign, including a photo booth, gift wrapping bars, donation collection areas and Christmas entertainment.
