• Fourth daily A380 Dubai-Sydney service from 25 March 2018
• Additional service to add 357,000 seats per year
• Provides greater connectivity to Europe and North Africa

Sydney Airport has welcomed Emirates’ announcement of a fourth daily A380 service from Dubai to Sydney to start next year.

Sydney Airport Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Kerrie Mather said the new service highlighted the high demand for this vital route.

“Dubai is such an important hub, with connections to key locations all over the world,” Ms Mather said.

“An additional A380 service provides even greater connectivity for our customers, making it easier to travel to Sydney from locations including Europe and North Africa.

“We’re delighted that Emirates has chosen to operate another A380 on this service, building on the large fleet of next generation aircraft providing more convenience and choice for Sydney Airport customers.”

The new service on the 489-seat A380 is expected to generate an estimated incremental $110 million in inbound visitor expenditure annually to New South Wales.

A daily A380 flight from Dubai to Sydney contributes an estimated $342 million to Australia’s GDP annually and 4,400 jobs, delivering $206 million to Australia's household income each year.

The additional service will offer a new option for passengers departing London and other European cities in the morning, allowing them to arrive in Sydney the next afternoon following a short connection in Dubai.

Passengers will travel in comfort on the A380, enjoying Emirates’ award-winning inflight entertainment system, gourmet food and wine, generous baggage allowances and up to 20MB of complementary onboard wi-fi.

Emirates customers will also be able to enjoy a seamless ‘A380 to A380’ connection to 48 destinations from Dubai. The new service will commence on 25 March 2018.

EK416 – Departs Dubai 8.40pm daily, arrives Sydney 5.20pm the following day from 25-30 March 2018, and 4.30pm the following day from 31 March 2018

EK417 – Departs Sydney 5.05pm from 26-31 March 2018 and 4.15pm from 1 April 2018, arrives Dubai at 12.25am the following day
