Jetting off over the school holidays? Here’s a few things you need to know

The July school holidays are coming up and it’s a great time of year to head off on a new adventure and enjoy a well-earned break.

It’s our job to get you on your way quickly and safely, so here’s a few things to keep in mind during this time of year.

  1. With everyone heading off on their holiday, you’ll notice it’s busy in and around the airport from 21 June to 15 July 2019

  2. There’s also a lot of traffic on the roads, so be sure to leave plenty of time to get here so you’re not rushing – three-hours if you’re heading overseas and 90-minutes if you’re flying within Australia

  3. Pre-booking a parking spot at one of our terminals is a great option to get from your doorstep to ours in the comfort of your own car

  4. A FREE DROP OFF area at T1 International will also open on the busiest days. Maps and directions can be found below.

  5. If you're travelling through T1 International, you'll notice we're in the middle of constructing a new Departures zone. The new area will provide a more intuitive and seamless experience and include more entry points. During construction, there’ll be changes to the way you move through Departures. There to guide you will be temporary signage and staff on hand to assist.

  6. If you’re heading to the airport by car, you will notice a few changes east of the airport at Wentworth Avenue and General Holmes Drive. For more information visit:

Directions to Free Drop Off

During the morning peak, if you’re heading in from the east or north via Airport Drive, signage will direct you to where you need to go, and airport staff will be waiting to assist you into the terminal. Follow the orange line on the map to the Free Drop Off location in P6.

During the morning peak, if you’re heading in from the south or west follow the red line on the map to the Free Kerbside Drop Off.

We appreciate your patience as we work to get you on your way safely.
