Jetting off over the school holidays? Here’s a few things you need to know

The holidays are here and it’s a great time of year to head off to see family and friends and enjoy a well-earned break.

It’s our job to get you on your way quickly and safely, so here’s a few things to keep in mind during this time of year.

  1. With everyone heading off on their holiday, you’ll notice it’s busy in and around the airport from now until 20 January 2020

  2. There’s also a lot of traffic on the roads, so be sure to leave plenty of time to get here so you’re not rushing – three-hours if you’re heading overseas and 90-minutes if you’re flying within Australia

  3. Pre-booking a parking spot at one of our terminals is a great option to get from your doorstep to ours in the comfort of your own car

  4. An additional drop off area will open each morning at T1 International between 7:00am and 10:00am during the holidays. Take a look at the map and directions below.

Directions to Free Drop Off areas

During the morning peak, if you’re heading in from the east or north via Airport Drive, follow the orange line on the map to the P6 car park for free drop off. Airport staff will be waiting to assist you into the terminal.

If you're travelling in from the south or west, continue to drop passengers along the Departures Plaza.

We appreciate your patience as we work to get you on your way safely.
