SYDStories launches as part of Centenary celebrations

We’re excited to share SYDStories with our community, an interactive portal filled with stories, images and memorabilia about the history of the airport. SYDStories is an important reflection on the role we’ve played in Sydney’s growth over the past century and celebrates the many people who have been part of the evolution of the airport.

From Nigel Love’s solitary flight in 1919 carrying Billy Marshall, we’ve grown to accommodate more than 44 million passengers, with an on-airport community of more than 32,000.

Sydney Airport’s runways have welcomed the ‘Southern Cross’ in 1928, Australia’s first jetliner in 1955, the supersonic Concorde in 1972 and the world’s first commercial A380 passenger flight in 2007.

Immerse yourself in the Sydney Airport story and visit sydstories.com.au.

Mascot Library are launching their new Local History #Mascot100 exhibition - People and Planes: A community view of Sydney Airport - this coming Saturday, 27 July. More information on the exhibition can be found here.
