Sydney Airport taps into brewery’s legacy with opening of Coopers Alehouse
Coopers, Australia’s family-owned brewery, in conjunction with Emirates Leisure Retail Australia, will set up shop at Sydney Airport’s T2 Domestic Terminal with the opening of the first Coopers Alehouse in Sydney, today.
Coopers has partnered with Emirates Leisure Retail Australia (ELRA) to bring the concept bar to life in Australia’s busiest and most vibrant terminal, offering travellers a wide selection of food and beverages. Also launching alongside the concept bar will be a new Hudsons Coffee outlet, an ELRA-owned franchise.
The fully branded Coopers bar will offer a wide selection of Coopers’ famous brews on tap, as well as bottled local and imported beers, wines and pre-mixed beverages. The menu will feature breakfast, lunch and dinner classics such as deli sandwiches, gourmet pizzas and entrée-sized light bites.
“It’s a natural fit for Australia’s busiest terminal to feature an iconic Australian brewery. Offering great choices, convenience and providing a pleasurable travel experience to customers is at the heart of our retail strategy. Coopers Alehouse will provide another sensational dining choice to travellers, further cementing our commitment to the expansion and revitalisation of T2,” Sydney Airport General Manager Retail, Andrew Gardiner, said.
Executive Chairman of Coopers, Glenn Cooper, said the company was excited to be offering its iconic brand to millions of Australia’s travellers.
“The first Coopers Alehouse in Adelaide has been operating successfully since it opened, and we saw this as a fantastic opportunity to put the Coopers name in front of vast numbers of travellers from all over the country. Along with our partners, ELRA and Sydney Airport, we are thrilled to bring a great Coopers experience to more Australians,” he said.
ELRA Managing Director, Adam Summerville, said Coopers and ELRA have had a robust longstanding relationship.
“We are delighted to take this partnership to a new level with the launch of Coopers Alehouse at T2, as well as our new Hudsons Coffee outlet. ELRA’s track record as an effective partner and operator for brands is a key part of our ability to work with iconic names such as Coopers, and we hope to continue this success in future projects with them,” he said.
Sydney Airport Domestic Terminal (T2) delivers a range of fashion and gift retailers plus casual eateries catering to its diverse customers. Time-poor travellers benefit from the convenience of T2’s careful planning of the retail layout, range of shopping options and strong service values – all enhancing the joy of travel.
