Sydney Airport has announced Global Exchange as its new financial services partner, providing passengers at the T1 International terminal with a new and innovative foreign exchange service, enhancing value and choice at the airport.

Positioned at 21 convenient locations throughout T1, the new, contemporary currency exchange bureaux will enhance the customer experience through upgraded technology to improve operational efficiencies, and a wider range of services such as guaranteed booking rates, global pre-paid money cards and a currency buy-back service.

Passengers will also be able to pre-order currency online with no deposit required and pick up at Sydney Airport, with competitive rates and ongoing promotions offered by Global Exchange, as well as an extensive range of major and exotic currencies.

“We are very proud to be the foreign exchange services partner for Sydney Airport and will be providing much more than a currency exchange transaction. Global Exchange will surprise customers with new services and technology support, delivering a new concept of foreign exchange for the 21st century,” President of Global Exchange Isidoro J. Alanis said.

Sydney Airport selected Global Exchange as its financial services partner after inviting expressions of interest from a number of global financial and related institutions to explore, redefine and revolutionise the current financial services offering at the airport, catering to the changing needs of the modern traveller.

“We’re thrilled to appoint Global Exchange as our official foreign exchange partner; they bring an innovative and holistic approach to our current financial services offering, and have a deep knowledge of the Sydney Airport market and our diverse international passenger mix,” Sydney Airport General Manager Retail Glyn Williams said.

Complementing the Global Exchange offering will be one of Australia’s leading banking providers with over 180 years’ experience, ANZ, which will offer passengers an additional opportunity to exchange currency, as well as providing local banking services and facilities across two locations at T1.

Travelex will continue to maintain operations at the T2 and T3 Domestic terminals.

Global Exchange is now open and is known for its exceptional customer service and personalised approach. It is present in more than 50 international airports in 20 countries, spanning four continents, and showcases an updated range of foreign exchange products and services to the over 14.5 million passengers who journey through Sydney Airport’s T1 each year.
