• In a global airport first, Kitchen by Mike Express is now open at Sydney Airport’s T1 International casual dining precinct
• The speedy spin on the original Kitchen by Mike concept features quality, seasonal fare to enjoy on-the-go

Popular Sydney restaurant Kitchen by Mike has officially opened the first Kitchen by Mike Express at Sydney Airport’s T1 International terminal.

Conveniently located before security, the new express concept offers departing passengers, as well as family and friends, the perfect opportunity to gather and sample Kitchen by Mike’s healthy and fresh fare.

This is the second exclusive food offering at Sydney Airport by famed Australian chef Mike McEnearney who is recognised internationally for working with quality, seasonal produce and creating hearty, home-cooked food that tastes as good as it looks.

The express menu features a selection of slow-cooked meats, salads, wraps and tarts to be enjoyed at any time of day, while a hearty breakfast menu features croque monsieur and Bircher muesli.

Sydney Airport General Manager Retail, Glyn Williams, said the new food and beverage offering benefits not only passengers, their friends and family – but also the 29,000 staff who work at Sydney Airport.

“As well as offering an exceptional dine-in experience, Mike has designed take-away packs, which are perfect for passengers arriving back into the country and our busy staff to grab on their way home.

“We’re continuing to transform the dining experience at T1, featuring a broader range of healthy and tasty food options with exciting concepts that wow customers and we’re thrilled to extend our partnership with Kitchen by Mike,” Mr Williams said.

Chef Mike McEnearney says he is very proud to be opening a second venue at Sydney Airport.

“I travel extensively, and I know how hard it is to find quality, fresh food before you fly, so I’m really proud to deliver my second concept at Sydney Airport. It’s a speedy spin on the original Kitchen by Mike and one I hope everyone enjoys,” McEnearney said.

Kitchen by Mike Express is located at the T1 International casual dining precinct, while departing passengers can also visit the original Kitchen by Mike located beyond security.
