• Rolex to join Sydney Airport in Australian airport first

Sydney Airport has announced luxury Swiss watchmaker Rolex will join the airport’s newly transformed T1 International fashion precinct in an Australian airport first.

Set to open in Q2 2017, Rolex is the final brand to join the premium collection of global fashion brands, including TUMI, Michael Kors, Kate Spade New York, Hugo BOSS, Emporio Armani, Tiffany & Co., Burberry, Max Mara, Coach and Oroton – with Gucci to open shortly.

The new Rolex boutique is presented by Swiss Watch Gallery and owned by Asia’s leading luxury retail specialist, Valiram. The new boutique caters for travellers with an appreciation of the highly-regarded Swiss watch brand, promising to deliver timepieces of high precision, reliability and performance, matched with the highest quality in service. Sydney Airport General Manager Retail Glyn Williams welcomed the final addition to the fashion precinct.

“We are absolutely delighted to be the first airport in Australia to house a standalone Rolex boutique at our T1 International fashion precinct,” Mr Williams said.

“World famous for its performance and reliability, it’s the perfect fit for our evolving passenger who seeks a contemporary shopping experience with exceptional choice.”

The 130m2 store will offer an impressive interior with a never-before-seen design. Inside the boutique passengers will be enveloped in a warm and inviting atmosphere embellished with textural glass, metal and bronze detailing. The store exterior will boast a striking double-height, eight-metre façade in keeping with the wider 1,900m2 precinct design.

The arrival of Rolex forms part of Sydney Airport’s wider improvements program to create a world-class airport experience, offering an exceptional international retail mix to deliver more choice and value to customers.

Rolex will open at Sydney Airport’s T1 International terminal, located after customs, in Q2 2017.
