Sydney Airport is transforming the SYD Transfer Facility which connects passengers between T1 International and T3 Domestic.

These improvements will deliver a smoother and more efficient transfer experience with modern equipment and refreshed amenities.

The phased upgrades will include:

• Longer passenger screening lanes and new technology body scanners, which are now in operation
• Upgrades to the checked baggage facilities by the end of December 2025, for faster passenger processing
• Renovated bathrooms and a refresh of the walls, lighting and ceiling
• A new bus waiting lounge layout and seating, including a premium seating area
• New electric buses in 2026, with an increased departure frequency - targeting services every five minutes

All upgrades are expected to be complete by February 2026.
