In 2024, we launched our Built Environment Sustainability (BES) Standards which address the project life cycle from feasibility to design, construction and occupation of both building and infrastructure projects. Sustainable buildings and infrastructure can unlock opportunities as they are more efficient, resourceful, resilient, future proof, vibrant and cost efficient over their lifecycles than traditional assets.

The BES Standards aim to support the achievement of our strategy through driving efficiencies and enhancing value to ensure sound investment now and into the future.

The BES Standards require projects to demonstrate compliance at key project stage gates, with significant improvements to the sustainability outcomes of capital projects.

In November 2024, we were honoured to be the winner of the 2024 AAA Sustainability Award for our BES standards.
