Valet car park terms and conditions

These terms and conditions are effective as of 1 March 2026.

VALET CAR PARK TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Terms and Conditions upon which Sydney Airport Corporation Limited (ABN 62 082 578 809) (or its properly authorised agents and contractors) (together “SYD”) accepts your vehicle are set out below. In addition to these terms and conditions, you agree to our Parking Terms and Conditions of Entry (which are displayed at the entrance to all of our car parks) and our Parking Terms and Conditions.

  1. By presenting your vehicle to SYD, you represent and warrant that you are the owner or authorised controller of the vehicle and agree to be bound by these terms.
  2. SYD may move and drive the vehicle to such places as SYD deems fit during any period of custody, retention or control. This may include locations off-airport, and which may not be under cover. You acknowledge and agree that the vehicle may be driven on public roads and may be exposed to weather and elements. If you purchased a product with undercover storage, you acknowledge and agree that your vehicle may be exposed to weather and elements while it is in the open-air area for drop off / pick up and in transit to an undercover storage location.
  3. Drivers for SYD may adjust your vehicle’s air conditioner temperature, seat, steering wheel and mirror so that they can drive the vehicle safely. SYD also encourages drivers to turn the radio off or down if you have left it on or at a high volume. We do this to protect your property and the drivers and help them drive as safely as possible. SYD cannot guarantee the above items will be returned in the same position they were in when you left your vehicle.
  4. For vehicles equipped with alcohol interlock, please provide us with a minimum of four (4) clean and sealed alcohol test tubes to enable us to operate your vehicle as required within the Airport precinct. Should these not be provided, SYD reserves the right to not accommodate your vehicle at our valet car park and to direct you to one of our self-park options.
  5. If your vehicle is electric, you must ensure that it is sufficiently charged to enable us to operate your vehicle for the duration of the valet parking services. You agree that, if necessary or if you book charging, SYD will charge your vehicle with its own charging equipment and if this occurs you are deemed to accept the “EV Charging Terms and Conditions” set out in clauses 26 to 33 below.

Your Conduct

  1. When you are at the valet parking reception area, you must drive carefully and responsibly. If the access to your vehicle is controlled by a remote keyless system or remote keyless entry, you must leave the necessary access cards, fobs, or valet keys at the valet parking reception area to enable us to operate your vehicle within the Airport precinct. Should you fail to do so, SYD reserves the right to not accommodate your vehicle at our valet car park and to direct you to one of our self-park options. You must also make sure that any children and animals are properly supervised and are accompanied at all times. Please be aware of all moving vehicles in and around the reception area.
  2. Before you leave your vehicle and the keys at the valet parking reception area, you must make sure the vehicle is properly secured, is roadworthy, and has a valid registration for the length of its stay. You must also remove all personal property and other valuable items before you leave your vehicle at the valet parking reception area.
  3. The Australian Road Rules and the Airports (Control of On-Airport Activities) Regulations 1997 (Cth) apply and are enforced at Sydney Airport and you must comply with these rules and regulations. Fines are payable by you for non-compliance.
  4. You must comply with all parking signs, permit zones and directions issued to you by SYD or its representatives.

Vehicle Collection

  1. Please give us at least 12 hours’ notice if you plan to collect your vehicle early from valet. Failure to provide sufficient notice may result in delays in the return of your vehicle.
  2. SYD may deliver the vehicle to any person: a. producing the customer claim check; or b. offering such other evidence of ownership or authority or entitlement to receive the vehicle as SYD deems satisfactory.

Unpaid Fees and Abandonment

  1. SYD may retain the vehicle until the customer claim check is produced or a person offers such other evidence of ownership or authority or entitlement to receive the vehicle as SYD deems satisfactory.
  2. SYD shall have a general lien upon the vehicle and its contents until all sums due for parking and/or other services rendered by SYD have been paid.
  3. Parking fees will be payable in respect of any period of retention and SYD reserves the right not to deliver the vehicle in accordance with clause 8 above until such fees are paid in full. Payment by debit or credit card (including via Apple Pay or Google Pay) will incur a Payment Method Surcharge: Visa - 0.9%, MasterCard - 0.9%, American Express - 1.6%, Diners Club - 2.4%, PayPal - 1%.
  4. If you do not collect your vehicle more than 30 days after the date you stated in your booking, you need to send us (a) the vehicle registration number and (ii) the reason for the delay in collecting the vehicle and the date you expect to collect it. If you do not send us this information, you agree that SYD or its agents or representatives may move and/or dispose of your vehicle in accordance with the Airports (Control of On-Airport Activities) Regulations 1997 (Cth).
  5. You agree that if your vehicle appears to be abandoned in the car park or on Sydney Airport land, SYD or its agents or representatives may move and/or dispose of your vehicle in accordance with the Airports (Control of On-Airport Activities) Regulations 1997 (Cth). For the avoidance of doubt and to the extent permitted by law, this agreement replaces any other statute which may otherwise apply in relation to the removal or disposal of the vehicle, including the Uncollected Goods Act 1995 (NSW).
  6. If your vehicle remains unclaimed after 3 months, SYD reserves the right to tow your vehicle to our nominated lot from which it will be disposed of or released through auction.

Liability and Acceptance of Risks

  1. SYD does not agree to accept any goods for safe custody and does not accept responsibility for the same.
  2. SYD will use due care and skill in providing you with the car parking services, and endeavour to provide them in a safe and controlled environment. However, using our car parks raises inherent risks you should be aware of. These include the risk of: damage being caused to persons, vehicles or other property by third party drivers, pedestrians and other persons; hazards created by weather and environmental conditions; theft or malicious damage; and malfunctioning equipment such as lighting, lifts, boom gates, electric vehicle chargers or ticket and payment systems. When using our car park, you are required to take reasonable care to avoid damage to yourself, other persons, and SYD and third-party property.

Guarantees, Warranties, and Limitations of Liability

  1. The Australian Consumer Law (ACL) sets out certain guarantees that may apply to the supply of services by us, which cannot be excluded, restricted or modified. The exclusion of guarantees and warranties, and the limitation of liability, in these terms and conditions, apply subject to any rights you may have under the ACL.
  2. To the extent permitted under the ACL, if the services supplied to you are not of a kind ordinarily acquired for personal, domestic or household use or consumption, SYD limits its liability for failure to comply with such a consumer guarantee to either the supplying of the services again or payment of the cost of having the services supplied again.
  3. In all other cases not arising under the ACL, our liability (whether under contract, statute, tort (including negligence) or otherwise) to you for loss suffered is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law to the fees actually paid by you to us in connection with the circumstances in which such liability arose, except to the extent the liability arises from fraud, negligence or default by SYD, its officers, employees, contractors or agents.
  4. You agree to inspect your vehicle upon collection from the valet area and report any damage and/or car wash service concerns before you leave the valet area. You acknowledge that failure to do so (unless in our reasonable opinion you can produce other satisfactory evidence showing the damage was sustained while your vehicle was at our valet car park), may result in SYD rejecting your damage claim if we are unable to determine whether the damage was sustained while your vehicle was at our valet car park or after the collection of your vehicle.
  5. To the maximum extent permitted by law (including the ACL), neither of us will be liable to the other for any incidental, indirect, punitive or consequential damages.

Electronic Monitoring and Privacy

  1. SYD uses licence plate recognition (LPR) technology to activate and verify bookings and close circuit television (CCTV) to monitor its carparks and associated areas for security and operational purposes. These technologies are operational at all times. SYD also uses technology to capture images of vehicles, including licence plate numbers, at the time they are delivered to the valet area to record any damage. You accept the use of LPR, CCTV and damage detection technology, and consent to the collection, use and disclosure of your licence plate and any other personal information you provide to us for this purpose. All personal information is handled in accordance with SYD’s privacy policy: https://www.sydneyairport.com.au/info-sheet/privacy.

EV Charging Terms and Conditions

  1. Clauses 26 to 33 apply in relation to any electric vehicle charging (EV Charging) provided for your vehicle as part of the valet parking services, and comprise the “EV Charging Terms and Conditions”.
  2. You agree to these EV Charging Terms and Conditions, and authorise SYD and its operators to charge the electric vehicle you provide for the valet service.
  3. You acknowledge that the EV Charging is performed using a Kempower Movable Charger with 40kW charging power at nominal voltage and CCS2 vehicle connectors. It is your responsibility to ensure that your vehicle is compatible with this equipment and you warrant your vehicle is compatible. If your vehicle is incompatible, we will be unable to provide the EV Charging.
  4. You acknowledge that your vehicle will be charged to the level set by you and we will not modify your vehicle’s settings. It is your responsibility to ensure that the preferred level of charge is set prior to providing your vehicle for the valet service.
  5. You acknowledge and agree that if we detect pre-existing faults, issues or damage to your vehicle, aftermarket parts or unauthorised repairs we may decline to provide the EV Charging. If we are unable or decline to charge your vehicle, you will not be required to pay the EV Charging fee and we will refund the fee to your nominated payment method.
  6. You acknowledge and agree that if you collect your vehicle earlier than your booked exit time, your vehicle may not be fully charged and you can either wait until the charging is complete or accept your vehicle at the current level of charge.
  7. You accept all liability in connection with any pre-existing faults, issues or damage to your vehicle, and arising out of aftermarket parts and unauthorised repairs.
  8. You acknowledge and agree that the fees payable for EV Charging will be displayed at the time of booking and these costs will be added to the valet parking fees payable by you to SYD. The fee will be deducted from your nominated payment method when the payment for your SYD parking booking is processed.

Car Wash

CAR WASH TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Terms and Conditions upon which Sydney Airport Corporation Limited (ABN 62 082 578 809) (or its properly authorised agents and contractors) (together “SYD”) accepts your vehicle for car wash services are set out below.

  1. Car wash services can be booked as part of your valet parking booking at Sydney Airport, by pre-booking using SYD’s online booking system at https://prebook.sydneyairport.com.au/en/ or, depending on availability, by booking with our staff when you drive up to the valet car park entry.
  2. If you book car wash services, those services will form part of your valet parking reservation and the terms and conditions set out below will apply, in addition to our Parking Terms and Conditions and Valet Car Park Terms and Conditions.
  3. As part of the booking process, you may be asked to confirm the size of your vehicle (e.g. small or large). You acknowledge that if you select the incorrect size for your vehicle at the time of booking, SYD reserves the right to charge you the applicable rate for the actual size of your vehicle based on SYD’s assessment of your vehicle size on arrival.
  4. As part of the booking process, you would have been made aware that if your vehicle is “extra-dirty” this will incur an additional surcharge of AUD $25 (Surcharge). SYD reserves the right to charge you the Surcharge if the condition of your vehicle on arrival is “extra-dirty” as determined by SYD. The Surcharge will be payable on collection of your vehicle. Examples of what may be considered “extra-dirty” for these purposes include, without limitation: a. Exterior of vehicle: thick dried mud around rims, mud flaps or side steps; heavily ingrained dirt on panels; oxidisation. b. Interior of vehicle: heavily ingrained food, dirt, sand, pet hair or other debris within the carpets, dashboard, door trimmings or seats.
  5. SYD reserves the right to refuse to provide car wash services for your vehicle if the condition of your vehicle is such that it is beyond the scope of the car wash services, as determined by SYD. In those circumstances, you will receive a refund for any car wash services paid for which have not been completed for your vehicle.
  6. Car wash services are generally undertaken within 24 hours immediately prior to the scheduled collection time for your vehicle. If you choose to collect your vehicle earlier than the scheduled collection time, you acknowledge the car wash services may not be completed. In those circumstances, you can choose to wait until the car wash services have been completed before collecting your vehicle or receive a refund for the car wash services which have not been completed.
  7. You agree to inspect your vehicle upon collection and report any issues or concerns relating to the car wash services before you leave the valet area. You acknowledge that failure to do so may result in SYD rejecting your refund request if we are unable to determine whether the issue arose from the car wash services performed for your vehicle or after the collection of your vehicle.
  8. Despite anything else in these terms and conditions, SYD reserves the right to close our car wash facilities at the airport for safety, security or operational maintenance or new development requirements or where reasonably necessary to deal with circumstances beyond SYD’s reasonable control. In that event, SYD will notify you and permit you to cancel or amend your online booking as provided in our Parking Terms and Conditions.
  9. SYD will not be liable to you for any period in which you are unable to receive car wash services due to a closure of the relevant car park, car wash facilities or the airport for safety or security or operational maintenance or new development requirements or where reasonably necessary to deal with circumstances beyond SYD’s reasonable control.
  10. You acknowledge and agree that your vehicle may be exposed to weather and elements while it is in an open-air area for the purposes of the car wash services, for drop off / pick up, in transit (including to and from the car wash area and the valet parking area) and whilst parked at the Airport.
  11. Without limiting SYD’s exclusion of responsibility for any goods left in your vehicle, if you have requested the provision of boot cleaning services, you acknowledge that if any personal property or other items are left in the boot of your vehicle SYD may refuse to undertake boot cleaning services until you have removed such items from your vehicle. If you fail to remove such items from your vehicle and SYD does not undertake boot cleaning services due to that failure, then, subject to any rights you have under law (including the Australian Consumer Law), SYD may not provide you with a refund in respect of that booking for boot cleaning services.
