Discover Penfolds Bin 389 Designed by Troye Sivan at T1
Penfolds has collaborated with GRAMMY‑nominated Australian artist and creative partner Troye Sivan, transforming the iconic Bin 389 into a limited-edition release that blends wine, art, and storytelling.
Available now at Heinemann Tax & Duty Free in Sydney Airport’s T1 International Terminal, the special release invites travellers to discover Bin 389 in a completely new way.
A Penfolds Classic, Reimagined
Often referred to as the “Baby Grange,” Bin 389 Cabernet Shiraz is one of Penfolds most sought-after wines. First created in 1960 by legendary winemaker Max Schubert, the blend has become a cornerstone of the Penfolds portfolio. Its distinctive character comes from combining the structure of Cabernet Sauvignon with the richness of South Australian Shiraz, resulting in dark fruit complexity, fine tannins and a long, savoury finish.
For this collaboration, the wine’s legacy is paired with Troye Sivan’s artistic perspective. The limited-edition gift box includes a 750ml bottle hand-wrapped in tissue paper, featuring one of twenty images from Sivan’s personal camera roll, making every piece a collectible keepsake.
Troye Sivan’s Creative Lens
Troye Sivan is one of Australia’s most recognisable contemporary creative voices. The celebrated artist has built an influential career spanning music, fashion, design, and visual storytelling. With billions of streams, international tours, and over a decade of work, his instinctive sense of style and ability to translate emotion into art have shaped a distinctive creative identity. His collaboration with Penfolds brings a fresh perspective to Bin 389, blending heritage winemaking and contemporary culture.
A Sculptural Magnum Release
Alongside the 750ml release, the 2023 Bin 389 Magnum transforms a benchmark wine into a sculptural statement. Designed by Troye Sivan and handcrafted by South Korean artist Rahee Yoon, each Magnum is encased in translucent red and white resin. Yoon’s work often explores the relationship between light, texture, and material, transforming everyday objects into luminous sculptural forms.
Her pieces have been exhibited internationally and are celebrated for their meticulous craftsmanship. In this collaboration, the resin casing captures both warmth and nostalgia, echoing the way memory shifts and deepens over time.
No two Magnums are identical, making every piece a unique work of art.
On Display at Sydney Airport

Whether you’re a long-time Penfolds enthusiast, a collector of limited releases, or searching for a one-of-a-kind gift, the collection offers a rare intersection of wine, art and design.
