We want to make Sydney Airport an inclusive and accessible space for everyone. That’s why we support the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower and and have partnered with Autism Spectrum Australia to develop sensory maps, journey planners, and specialist training for our staff, to enable people with hidden disabilities access to support and assistance across our terminals.
The Hidden Disabilities Sunflower is a simple tool to make you visible to us, so we can assist as needed. Wearing a sunflower lanyard at Sydney Airport enables our staff to recognise that you may require assistance as you make your way through the airport.
We can support with things like guiding you through special assistance lanes or allowing you extra time, and more. Please note that the lanyard does not fast-track you through security or passport control areas.
You can collect a sunflower lanyard from three locations at Sydney Airport:
Use our sensory maps to identify high and low sensory areas of the terminal. These can help you prepare for noisy and busy areas and assist you to navigate to quieter areas as needed.
Google Maps Indoor Live View is now available at Sydney Airport.
Indoor maps is a new augmented reality feature on Google Maps - available in both international and domestic terminals - designed to help passengers find gates, baggage claims, retail outlets, dining options, restrooms, ATMs and more.
For any wheelchair or accessibility passengers, please select the ‘Wheelchair accessible’ preference to find wheelchair, pram and suitcase friendly paths. You can also turn on audio navigation prompts, in addition to visual cues.
As part of our journey to create an inclusive environment for all visitors and travellers, we have launched a new website accessibility software tool which provides accessibility and language options to enable you to customise our website in a way that works best for you.
Use the toolbar to change the font, font size, website theme, language and much more.
Launch the toolbar by clicking on the accessibility icon, located at the top of each page on desktop, and in the burger menu on mobile.
